Going bankrupt on feeder fish!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good lord. Well, as already stated, you are outrageously overstock. IMO a 150g tank isn't even big enough for just that arowana alone!

If I understand correctly all you feed them is frozen seafood and feeder fish? Well don't worry about being overstocked. Most of them probably won't live much longer in an overstocked environment that likely has sky rocket levels of nitrates and them not getting all the proper dietary nutrients they need. Pellets are made for a reason. They contain all the vital nutrients are fish friends need to live a long happy live. Feeding them nothing but feeders and frozen seafood is going to be depriving them of crucial dietary nutrients they need to live long and be healthy. So if you're running out of money to feed them it's because you don't have them on a quality staple food you can buy in large amounts for relatively cheap and keep buying them feeders and seafood. I can see why you're running out of money!

If you just keep feeding them what they want they'll never eat pellets... You need to train some fish to eat pellets.

EDIT: Wow, got like four responses while I was typing. Yeah ^ ^ mfk marketplace. I didn't think anyone existed in my neck of the woods and I had no problem finding a good home for my sailfin pleco that I didn't want to house permanently. If you really want them to have a good home and want to address the overstock issue fast just put up free ads for them on here and I'm sure you'll find good homes for them.

And like I said I have not been on this forum for a long time so no I haven't tried the classifieds. I just dont know how I would ship a fish that big safely...

Thanks Jon for the help what brand of pellets do you suggest? and I know how overstocked my tank is, I have been trying to find good homes locally for my fish like I have said. I might just have to talk the wife into letting me put a 300 in the living room.

I doubt even a 300g would be good enough for your current stock.

As for shipping of fish - just say local pickups only. Might only sell a couple of fish but that would defiantly help you out.

No offense, but wow!!!

The MBU will need a 800G+ tank for itself...

The Aro will probably need a 300G+ tank for itself...

The fire Eel will need a 200G + tank for itself...

The Tire Track eel will need a 200G + tank for itself...

So overall, i think its time you sell some of your fish before they bust out of the tank for you...

Either way, good luck with it and hopefully you'll manage to work something out...

Any quality pellet. I use Hikari Gold and know a lot of other people that use that as well. Though I don't think my Pbass I got a few weeks ago likes floating food because he nails anything that sinks so I'm going to try out the Sinking Massivore (which I believe is still Hikari) when my Hikari Gold pellets run out.

Shipping isn't that difficult. There are good articles on here about how to ship and you need accessories like styrofoam inserts that fit into the boxes, large bags, heater packs sometime, but you can buy all of that at the post office AND just post them and say PU or S/H if they are willing to pay for the shipping and the supplies and can help you out with the shipping process.
