Ancistrus from 3 spots, though they look identical.
Parancistrus.

Brought back a nice pimedela cat, but he was one of the few casualties, that and a Apisto Borelli male died(we only caught 2).
Some whiptail cats.

Some crazy looking cat, not sure what it is, ill get a pic up when he quits hiding.
nice golden orange knife fish.

Hoplias.

A golden orange knife fish? Please post a pic of that!

updates for the remaining year.

I will be returning to South America in early december for anyone who wishes to come along.
you can bring back fish. pick the right fish and it will pay for your trip.
cost is roughly 1500-2000 for lodging, permits.
airfare out of LAX is about 800-1200.
bring back ten pikes, and ten Hoplias and that should pay for your trip!!!

Africa....
I will either be going to just Malawi end of September....both Tanganyika (after a week in Malawi),...or just Tanganyika.

Malawi runs about 1800 for diving, lodging for about 8 days. Plus about 2200 air out of LAX.
Tanganyika runs about 1600 for 7 days lodging, dives, etc. Plus about 1800 for air.
If we camp/tent in Tanganyika (instead of the chalet's) i can get the lodging cost down to 1000, which means for about $3000 you can do Tanganyika for a week.

A combined three week trek in Tanganyika and Malawi will run about 6500.

You won't be able to bring fish back from Africa, but you can do something that few others will.

Africa is more of a SCUBA/Photography type trip.
South America is more of a rugged/river fishing/ cichlid and catfish collecting type trip.

Madagascar has been put off till 2014.

Let me know if you are interested in any of these two trips.

Hey aren't you worried about going to malawi since the president died? Ive heard they are having fuel shortages and its kind of chaotic over there (not safe).
