I'll be setting up my 75 in the coming month or so and already picked out this piece of driftwood for the tank, but am going for a really natural look. Looking for ideas on making it look more natural. It will be PFS substrate (and probably some gravel on top to accent), and that piece of wood thus far.

Thoughts on rock size/placement? I'm thinking about not doing any plants (even fake).

What are your thoughts?

You could attach some java fern to the dw

go to you're local craft store and buy silk plants, thats what I did with my 2 oscars and the tank looks great

looks really good so far, you definately want to get some fake plants in there. this is what I do.
Go to your local Petland, or Big Als, anywhere that sells both reptiles and fish. Go to the reptile decor section and buy the reptile plants, they are all either silk or Plastic. not only are they bigger than the fish plants, but they are always better quality and cheaper too for the size.

I got two large flowing ones that stick to the glass for 10$ each.

For me a few leaves, and some natural sunlight and shadows make for a natural look.

Oh yeah, and the 3 D background.
Mine is called Malawi rocks, from the Swedish company.

I'll have to check that out, I have a $25 gift card to petland from christmas...

Install the background using silicon aquarium sealant (GE window and door is good, make sure it's not anti fungal/mold type). Use a healthy amount when attaching to the back of the tank, they are buoyant, and will shoot out like a rocket if not tight, or cured long enough when the tank is filled.

I held it to the back with PVC while it cured.
