Nope, Phoenix, if there’s a lot in there , that could be a cash cow lol
O yeah it could. I could see ppl paying a decent amount for some adult sized venustus. Lol wouldn't sell em as wild caught tho since they aren't supposed to be there in the first place. Did you bud keep it or toss it back? Me personally I would've kept it.

I would’ve kept it, it was a friend of a friend that caught it and I think he put it back. The only lfs that buys fish here sells them that size for 60, so I would probably get 20-25 in trade for each. Or maybe keep one, assuming that’s not the only one

Well that sucks that could've been a nice spot of pocket $ for such lil work. Wonder what he caught it on.

pretty good chance feral fish have parasites. I wouldn't catch them and sell to a LFS with good conscience. Could infect somebody's tank of fish they love and have grown out.
That’s true but there’s many wild caught fish for sale in any fish store, and many fish with parasites or diseases. That’s why people are supposed to quarantine before putting anything in there display tank. Many Breeders also raise their fish in ponds, especially those in Florida.

That is true, that is true. Ik with me I catch quite a few wild fish that are just riddled with parasites, usually nothing harmful to me or my fish but definitely doesn't look good. I got a pic of a hybrid sunfish I caught yesterday that ya can kind of see the parasites just under it's skin, I forget the name of the parasite but it leaves these tiny lil black dots on/in the fish and it comes from the snails they eat out there. I high lighted the parasites on this fish to make them easier to see. Perfectly safe to eat as long as it's cooked, it just looks weird having a chunk of meat that looks like its been pre-peppered.

I’ve seen those black dots on fish before, but I don’t know what exactly they are either. That’s a cool sunfish tho. I also think there’s a difference in the parasites that are in a large natural lake compared to a small man made pond in a park in the inner city, could be wrong on that tho
