Throwing in 100 feeders at one time without you being there to do a water change in the next few days will probably be the worst thing to do. Ammonia spike for one could happen, just to name a few. I guess it depends how well your tank is filtered to carry the heavy bioload.

The fish will survive without eating for the 10 days, it will just be a hit or miss that they may just feed on one another?

If your P's eat pellets get yourself an auto-feeder and just set the day and time.

They should be able to ge 10 days w/o food. If you throw all those feeders in there (shouldn't be feeding feeders anyway) & there is a lot of leftover pieces of food, the tank will become toxic. Also, the diseased feeders that live more than a day will transfer all that disease over to your fish.

haha.. no way i can leave these Red bellies and Exodons alone for 3 days let alone 10 haha... and my feeders arn't desiesed... i get them straight from my fish farm where heavy testing is done... miniture rainbow trout... good food source for them...

its not a the best thing to do, but u can always lower your water temperature in order to slow their metabolism. not much, but if you go between 18 and 20, its not a big change (well it depends of the temp u keep them of course...) but i did this once or twice (chrismass vacations) and i keep them at 25-26 usually. it worked for me, but i only left for 6 days...

maybe it could help...

good thinking... ill definatly try that... these auto feeders... they any good??? does anyone else have suggestions?

If you know your P's and Exo's won't last for 3 days let alone 10, why ask? :screwy:

Have a freind or family memebr come in about mid way through your trip and have them feed them. Only leave out what you want them fed though.

A pair of large meals just before you leave and then arrange for someone to drop in a set number of feeders at the mid-way point. Seriously...10 days is no big deal for them to go without food.
