I'm gonna get a 4" male from Rapps. While I cycle my 75g, would he be fine in a 55g with my red sev pair? They only get aggressive when other fish go near their breeding put. And I heard Lyonsi are pretty docile fish. Any advice? I could make a divider if needed.

Would probably depend on how aggressive your sev's are. Just to be safe why not make a divider. No use in risking all the money you're going to be spending.

Yeah I figured I might as well. They used to be the nicest fish lol. Then they snapped and got grumpy all the time.

About a week. Maybe more if I don't feel its up to my standards. I'm going to baby this fish. Never spent this much on a fish so I don't want to regret it.

Haha see so it won't have to sit in your tank for too long. I don't blame you lol. I've been wanting to buy me a fish from rapps or something, but it's a lot of money. Probably well worth it, but if something goes wrong it's a big risk. I wanna get me some wild rams.

Rams are pretty cool. I've got a trio in a 20l.

Haha ya it's crazy how breeding changes the attitude of fish. How long are you letting your tank cycle for?

yeah fish have yet to understand the "bro's before ho's" rule:irked:

you just gotta do it to know. But i think the Sev pair will attack the Lyonsi. You might need a divider

I'd drop the new fish into the 75g...and add some gravel, a filter or some media from another tank to get it cycled.

Adding it to a tank without quarantine is a bad idea (for the new fish and the existing ones), no matter the source of the new fish.
