Sorry for your loss. It looks like a young one. I don't think his death is due to the old age. A well-care captive large central American cichlid can live up to at least 10 years. I had a fenestrata that she was 14 years before it was killed by my barred midas. Anyway, I hope you can find a replacement for him.

It looked young in the pics but not in person. It had the look of an OLD fish. And it was kept in great conditions.
