The guy didn't get ripped off if his aro is of better quality than the ones being sold at bargain basement prices. That's the thing with aros, there are some really nice ones and some really not so nice ones. Prices don't always tell the difference, but it's no different than anything else. As someone else said in this thread, you usually get what you pay for. The trick is to figure out how to spot the nice ones at small sizes.

This is the beauty about aro market. It is not always you get what you pay for but its what you know about the aro that you pay for. Some just price it so high for a ridiculous fish or just a fancy name and newbie really don't know what fish they are getting. Like High Grade RTG? There is such a fish? Hobby will get confuse by this name.

As Koji mention RTG is all the same for every farm and nothing much different except you might get some bonus with 5th level shine. So really, you can't judge the fish for the price tag, especially RTG, they will turn out the same, and before you blame on the fish quality, blame on your keeping skill. There is many factor to ruin your fish look and gold tone.

give me a break, listen ANY type of asian arowanas r illegal in the states, but serious if u no of a lfs owned by an asian guy in socal, chances r theres asian aros, no joke all the lfs my uncle took me to had some type of asian aro. can someone from socal back me up please. dont say the lfs location or anything, just say if ur in socal n if u saw an asian aro 4 sale

I agree there is illegal Asian aro for sale in US but I don't think LFS would have it display in there store. They at least hide it somewhere, if they have it in there store then just one call they would be in jail.
