Your use of the :headbang2 emoticon is appropriate. $8 is a great price for ANY datnoid. :D

Nice group.

Lets hope they become stable :)

wow that will be a nice group if you can get them stable :D

$8 each is a barging

Nice Indos! Note how the middle bars cross the ventral surface instead of sweeping backwards and coming to a point at or before getting there.

The references to stability pertain to how well a datnoid retains its coloration. A dat that consistently shows crisp bars and high contrast between the bars and background coloration is considered "stable," whereas one that turns black easily or whose bars become faded or muted is not stable.

Does substrait color have any effect in the collor of a dat? I have had 8 NGT's for over 6 months and they are black. I use black sand with them. (its where I took the sand from for the little guys tank)

Is there a trick to make them become stable?

It could, but so could many factors, such as the presence/absence of hiding places, water parameters, tankmates, etc. IME, widebars are the most stable in coloration. NGTs, Indos, and thinbars all tend to be less stable and are more likely to change coloration depending on the environment.
