Gold Fish – “Helicopter”

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Been away for a while but just had to comment.

Personally I admire the LONG TRADITION of fancy goldfish. They are a source of National Pride in China and Japan, as are Bonsai/Penjing (trees in trays), and require enormous skill and attention to develop! Just as in any breed of domesticated animal, (think of pug dogs, manx cats, 'fainting' goats. to name a few . . .) and even human children (many of whom survive now only with modern technology) there will be those 'for' and 'against'.

To me the quality of the life of the individual is what matters! As you can plainly see by the VIBRANT breeding-condition of these animals, (notice the white 'bumps' or breeding turbecles on the leading edges of the pectoral fins and the gill covers of the males) these fancy goldfish are in the best of condition and health. It is VERY challenging to produce quality, true-to-type breeds of goldfish. A mature, healthy goldfish is a real investment of time and love by the breeder and owner.

More, goldfish bring many people into the aquarium hobby to begin with. They were, in fact, my own beginning.

So I just wanted to tell Hristo and any viewers alarmed by some comments here, these are BEAUTIFUL purebred goldfish and great portraits of them as well. There will always be individual taste in all things, but Quality shows.

Thank you for sharing your glorious goldfish!

Thank you, Rich!
Thank you very much for that comment, Cathy!

Great captures Hristo! They're really fun models.
