Thank you for the worthwhile post, it helped answer my question.

:ROFL::ROFL:

Last night while picking up some more food (petsmart was the only place open) I heard a guy asking about putting a dragon goby in a large bowl. I had to talk him out of it. I'm glad I did since he was ready to go with his bowl, tetrafin flakes and stress-zyme... When I informed him they were brackish he grabbed the conditioning salt! Finally he seemed to realize that it wouldn't be the (and I quote) "cool monster dragon that I can feed mice to for my friends... come on... it's like a dragon!".

IMO I don't like goldfish or Oscars

makes sense im not a fan of bala sharks does not mean i would like to see them in a one gallon bowl

The point is that there are goldfish and there are GOLDFISH. How many times have you seen swim bladder problems or eye problems on fancy short bodied or compressed spine goldfish when put into a pond or large tanks where their rapid growth and large size is encouraged? Even though this is well intentioned, ignorance and mis-conception is not one way.

i always killed my goldfish before i left the fair! usually got beat to death on a ride. Never tried to keep one in a bowl. i did have a custome who would buy a 10g and a 5-6" comet the same day and the next week, another 10g and another 5-6: comet. she swore they would live fore years before dieing.
