gold JD?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got six of these back in October. They have very interesting color - not dramatic, but different than regular JD's. The feedback I have received is that mine look different than what most other people are seeing. I think it has to do with feeding and dominance - I believe all the golds these days come from the same source. Mine were all white when youger and the smallest ones are still white colored.

I believe all these to be males and they are from 3" to 4" and very well fed ;)

They are getting 100% NLS small pellets at this point.

Auratum,

If I could only get an adult Gold Dempsey with mine's solid white and yours impressive orange belly...

Then I'd be a happy man...

I'd like to echo something Auratum stated... I really wanted to establish an unrelated pair of Golds... but after asking around to any/all the breeders I'm familar with... it seemed they all traced back to the same original source...

So I decided not to breed my siblings and distribute fry. The breeder who is distributing them widely has obviously put respectable effort into establishing his pair(s) that consistently produce impressive offspring... so buying two of his fish, inbreeding them and becoming his competition is just damn rude... not something I would do...
