Sorry you cant understand that this is a social forum matt and people like to share their experiences with fish. Next time dont look.

I'm sure he gets it now . . . sometimes, when a fish dies, people just want to post about it, and not necessarily get a whole bunch of what-ifs about what went wrong . . . perfectly normal

sorry 'bout your loss . . .

Maybe. I feel like he may have been a little too slow growing and way too inactive for me. Anyone have suggestions for another pleco that gets slightly bigger but is pretty active?

check out Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps and Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus. not the most colorful of plecos but definitely not shy and arguable some of the most active. they are also very common and inexpensive, easy to care for because they eat drift wood, algae, and vegetables you drop in your tank until they get older and start eating pellets as well.

joseli's are my favorite because they only tend to grow to about 12", gibbiceps a close second only because they get a little larger.

Sorry about the loss. I had the same thing happen to me. Could not figure out why my gold nugget died. It was very sad. They are so rare around here. My most active pleco is my sailfin.
