I really want to get a gold nugget pleco for my 125 cichlid tank. The stock consists of 13.75" orange pike, 1 8" geophagous brasilnalsis(total misspelled that one), 1 4.5" green severum, and 1 salvani 4". Could this work?

U need good hiding spot like a good driftwood and it will work, Check out Goldie, l14 might be better option as they get alittle bigger and wont get bothered but any decent size gn should be fine

Agree with Imt6600 except for one thing. Pikes are mean, very mean, while plecos are usually pretty weak when first introduced into a new tank, especially one that's purchased from lfs. If it can survive the first couple weeks, it should be fine in the long run. Keep the water in perfect condition, properly acclimate the golden nugget to make sure it's at it's healthiest and has a fighting chance.

Feed the pike well very well and turn off the lights before introducing the golden nugget, and keep the pike happy. If you are ok with the idea, try introducing a few guppies or other dither fish for the pike to pick on while the golden nugget gets used to the environment and gets strong enough to run away from the pike.

Agree with Imt6600, if your budget allows, get a good sized L14 goldie, they tend to be less fragile than golden nuggets.

Gold nuggets just won't get big enough to have chance in that tank.
Just my opinion. Good luck

A good size of l200, or any vampires will do good, l07, l 241, 29, maybe a 5 or 6" of l114 would look great too. Endless choices if you have the budget, all matters how much your willing to spend and your local sources, there's always online stores like Snookin21 etc.
