I use to have gnuggets along with mangos on occasion. Always killed them eventually..sometimes it took about a month when they were already not aken care of by the petstore. Sometimes it would take a year+...A breeder once told me that this family of plecos need 83-86 degrees for long term keep...he said, "oh yea, they might stay alive for a long time, but they can't metabolize their food well at lower temps..so it's kind of a long slow death"...this really shocked me at the time cause I spent years trying to figure out why mine never thrived & eventually kicked the bucket..sort of wanted to take a couple pet stores to court for not informing ignorant customers like myself on how to properly care for them for the longhaul, but it never went down
