Gold or black wolf?

Hey all, I've had a bad time with wolves lately. I lost my red by means of a jump. My baby black via my own silly fault of missing a moulding mussel that was eaten.
One more go....
Now I have the opportunity of either a 10" gold or 8" Surinam black.
Bearing in mind I have a 300g stocked with cichlids, black aro and plecs which would you pick?
The only fish I wouldn't move from the 300 are my rapps Oscar and my l095 pleco.
Which would you choose?

Gold would be more likely to get along, of course for either of these fish this would only be a growout

Lol, 300g grow out? Golds get 16" and blacks don't seem to pass 18" in the aquarium?
 
i haven't been as interested in my tank since my black... I'd chose a black and the 300g wouldn't be a grow out..

And a black will pass 18" if you keep it long enough I can guarantee that

Yeah I know I prefer blacks. I have a longing to get another.
Are the golds worth considering, do they get to 16" in aquaria? What's their attitude like?
Mala is available to but just get too big, can't be arsed to grow another red out.
 
Any good shots of big golds Moe?
 
I think you getting mixed up with mala and Aimara.

Is the black, again all lit states absolute max at 28" but rarely pass 16" in aquariums proved by many people.

By all means if you can show evidence of 4' blacks or even 3' and 2' golds please post it up.

Many do not reach max size due to improper care, that being said there's evidence (pics and vids, some here in mfk if someone can find them) of fish well over 30 inches for blacks, keep in mind however that black wolffish takes awhile to reach adult size
