Gold Oscar?

My LFS has an Oscar in that is labeled a Red Oscar, but it is a very different color than any red Oscar I have ever seen i was searching online and found Oscars that were almost the exact same color labled Golden Oscars. It is an almost identical color to the one on the bottom left of the picture. Is it likely thwt it would stay this color into adulthood? It is about 4 inches now, and I think it is gorgeous, but I am not a fan of normal Red Oscars.

So I know it is probably not a "real" Golden Oscar since those are quite rare, but if it is that coppery-golden-olive color at ~4" is it likely to keep it, or change over to a normal looking red Oscar? It has no brown, black or red to speak of...
 
Haha, well hopefully not too many! I always liked everything I heard about Oscars, but didn't have a big enough tank to commit to them/ didn't like how most varieties look as adults. Example, I love baby tiger Oscars looks, but not the adults. But I have lately discovered there are some varieties I had never heard of/seen before that I really like. And I do love my Crassipnnis' personality. Today he jumped and tried to eat a fly that landed on the egg crate "hood" on the tank! It was pretty cool. Do you have much experience with Oscars? Ever since I saw that unique "red" one at the store I cant stop thinking about how cool he looked, but if he just turns out like a normal red I don't really want him... The indecision is killing me!
 
Your dislike of adult tigers is pretty much like mine. I love Oscars for their personality but man can they get ugly. I wanted the personality but not such a common fish so I went with my pearsei.

Right now Im looking for a solo wet pet for my 72g bowfront and have been thinking of an oscar. Just cant find any I like right now. I would lean more toward a Bumble Bee but none local and Rapps is not cheap right now due to size being sold. Im pretty close to Wet Spot so a Oscar like yours is reasonable to ship, so another I may consider. And as much as I hate line bred fish like EBJD's for some reason I like Lemon Oscars. Go figure.
 
I like the look of the crassipinnis but since this is a solo wet pet, I would want to pick it out myself. So if they still have some in September I might do a weekend trip to Portland and pick my own. Or if I find another fish in the meantime....
 
Well I didn't get it... some of the other fish in the tank had ich, and it was more expensive than I though - $18. I'll keep an eye on it though. Maybe if they don't sell it, the ich is treated, and they come down in price...
