I just joined MFK today, made my first post in the pikes section. I have a sliver saum and gold saum gt in my 100 gallon tank. I bought them last week as true wild caught gts, I know now that the gold saum is not wild caught but the silver should be. Here are some photos:

Nice fish. Really like the silver saum

well they all come from the wild at some point. no gt that I know if is hybrid or man made. chances are though that they both are not wild caught I would imagine.

The silver edging on that silver saum is amazing. If there were more fish out there like that one, I'd have to do GT's again. Excellant pickup!

well this guy does his best to accurately describe his stock. It doesnt matter to me if they areor not though.

the gold and silver saums or what most people know as GT's are sold under the scientific name Aequidens rivulatus but its only the true GT that is a true Aequidens rivulatus. smaller and far more aggro than saums.
saums arent GT's they are described as Aequidens sp. a cousin of the true rivulatus and they can grow much bigger than true GT's but are generally less aggressive.

this thread shows pics of each kind http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194893&highlight=true+green+terror

Green Terror is the common name...saying that a gold/silver saum isn't a green terror is silly.

Yes these are not true GT's (Aequidens Rivulatus) and Gold Saums are found in the wild, like the silvers.
