gold saum vent shots male or female?

what is the best way to trigger them to want to pair/spawn? i figure theres 3 females for him to choose from,only time he really displays to them is at water changes and lights off.

I don’t do anything special for mine. If I plan to raise the fry I will do a slightly cool water change when I see the females egg tube start going down. I’ll also feed a little more a couple days before they spawn.

Yours look plenty old enough to spawn, but if they aren’t it might be because the female doesn’t feel “safe”. If that makes sense.
Too many tank mates might keep a pair from spawning if they feel too bothered. You can remove the others and any other occupants you can see them chasing off. That might be all you need to do.

ive tried putting the 4 of them in their own tank with sand,driftwood etc and the aggression and chasing is 10x worse.the large male has nothing better to do than harass the other 3.keeping the tank somewhat overstocked has actually allowed all 4 of them to be in same tank without issues.too many targets the large male gets lost trying to chase.ive also put a lot of hiding places,pvc,driftwood,terracotta pots to aid in keeping aggression down which seems to have worked,just takes more tank maintenance is the down side.currently pulling the substrate out of 125 i have to make it bare bottom (what a mess since it had soil in the bottom) so the 100 gallon has a few extras in there for a few days until i can get the 125 going again at which i prolly add only the 2 that seem to like each other to it and if and when they pair sell the remaining ones.cranking up the heat a bit seemed to get my midevil pair and flowerhorn pair to spawn within days but not these saums..they are stubborn
