I am hoping this spilo thing comes through, if so, I will have a 1/2" gold in my 30 gallon planted.

What are some good tankmates for a spilo? I already have a breeding stock of guppies in the tank, I'm pretty sure it can't eat em all.

What are some fish that the spilo would leave alone?

none, these piranhas can be housed with the same kind of p, if your lucky. i have 4 in my 75 gallon and the do great together. but they will eat anything else you put in there, eat or terrorize until it dies, then eat it.

I'm still waiting for my purple spilo but I was reading a lot about the spilo and they say its almost impossible but not completely unheard of to have tank mates(because of their aggression and fin nipping habits).

Good read...

I will still give it a try, since there will be lots of plants, lots of them.

I hope most people notice when you read the success stories almost all of them have 3 things in common.......very large tanks with lots of hiding places or large adult Ps with small quick tank mates and/or tank mate introduced at the very begining while the P(s) was/were young and grew up together (some people also re aquascaped at the time they introduced the new "tankmate"). Either way, best of luck

Spilo thing may not happen, but I did find 1" indo dats for $10 at a store in long beach. Might pick up a few.

man it's possible to have two spilo in the same tank.. but u need big tank.. like 400 liters (200 liters each)!

Yes, it is possible but can be risky even if you give them 200 liters each. I'd add some good cover for them at the least :)
