Have you had them with tankmates? I want to put them with similar sized pbass. And I'm totally stoked to have active fish.
Oh yeah, that was one of your original questions.I have mine in a characin community tank of sorts and it rarely bothers the tats and armatus or the brycon or anything else but it does torpedo into whatever fish happens to be in the path of its constant patrolling. It will even snatch food from the mouths of whoever cant swallow fast enough to get it down.I did have a cichla bass in the tank but there was never any noticeable problems between them.I only removed the bass because it is my only live fish eater and the other fish have been trained off of feeders.

So you said that you've had your's for about a year. How large was it when you got it, and how big is it now? What are you feeding?

PS: Thanks for answering all my questions, you seem to be the only one.

Sometimes I hate you folks south of the border, and this is one of those times... a 4" Dorado around here costs 250 bucks lol.

Yeah,I got the three inchers from his batch before this one he has now.It is about eight inches now and pretty thick,I can already tell that they are powerful fish as adults. He was eating pellets at the surface but now he eats the cut up smelt and raw shrimp that I drop in for the sabertooths.I dont answering your questions if I can, this is still my favorite section and I enjoy talking here.

But there is always that one fish that you guys can have that we can't.:irked:

i am pretty sure hannible came from rapps about a year ago too. i got him last thanksgiving from al. he was 9 1/2 inches then, he is now maybe a bit more than 14 inches. thick as hell too.

i keep him with an 8ish inch p-bass. never had problems

I have a 6" dorado with 3 pbass of about the same size. they are also with a 10" emperor cichlid, 5" synspilum and a 20" black pacu. I don't have any problems with them getting along, at least for now, they are in a 240G. good luck

Thanks for all the info, now people are chiming in. I just wanted a thread for peoples experiences and info on golden dorados. I couldn't seem to find anything.
