this is a dorado from the Show your GD thread. It's similar in size and doesn't have a upturned snout.
The one you have pictured is not gold but a distortion either from the glass or a flash if you used one while taking the picture.
dorados will not start showing adult gold at this size it is usually around the 10-14" mark and 10" if you're lucky and the diet is great.
Looks like a brycon.
but hell what do I know other then a brycon is worth less then a dorado. So A dorado it is.
