Must we wait until tomorrow for pictures?

Im sorry but you guys do have to wait until tomorrow. I didnt have my nikon avalible this weekend, I left it here at the office. I will take videos and photos tonight. Pleanty at that. Solomon informed me that this may be a condition called Erythrism. After googling that condition I have found out its meaning and veiwed pics of other species with this condition. He also stated that gars have not been found with this condition before. The gar I captured appears to have this condition :) Will post tomorrow. Thanks John

Cool. Looking forward to the pictures.

FYI i will reserve definite conclusions until we get to check out the pics...erythrism was one of the first possibilities that came to mind (aside from just an environmental color variant, which is the more likely candidate, but if it is that unusual to John it may very well be something more than environmental).

for the record, erythrism hasn't been seen in many animals at all, so the likelihood of this being the case here is pretty low...reGARdless, we're all up for seeing some pics of an unusual gar whatever the cause is :) --

Thats right Solomon.. My first thought was one of your conclusions. Enviroment, then I thought maybe its diet made it this color. Its not 100% red like the gold is 100% gold. The maroon one has red fins and the top portion of its body is all maroon. It also has some blue and purple in it along with gold which I have not seen in any gars.
