Its a gar - US coldwater native this is where it should be posted, sorry for leaving out the link I got distracted and had to go. As far as why I posted it, I thought someone might be interested.

oh ic..

ya.. that golden gar has been on there for almost month and half.. he's asking for like 3grand? something like that..... I dont think i'll ever buy a fish that expensive...

Most i've paid for a fish is $150.. and THAT was already like.. blah.... :irked:
But i liked the fish.. so i sucked it up..

Not many coldwater keepers would care about that gar (hence why people keep saying wrong section), but as a tropical keeper I love it.

Not sure I see many Coldwater fish keepers around here in reality.. Temperate maybe.. but not much dealing with actual coolwater fish seems to be discussed at all..
All Lepisosteus gar are Temperate fish that are endemic (I.E.Native) to North America seems to me that this fits the definition of the section just fine. I'm not sure how one qualifies these as "tropical" so as to be separated from all other North American Native fish Nor can I see a reason to exclude them.

Granted there is a specific forum for Lepisosteidae on this site but the fish is still very much covered by all the heading material for this section. It is actually more accurate and more to the point to post this notice here than many that think posting Belonid and Tetra questions under the Gar forum is...

u guys do realise that the golden gar is johns right?(snookn21) as in a vendor here?? he has had pics every were. 3k is a good price for it but people dont have a ton of extra cash. if i didnt have to spend 4k on changing the heating in my house, i would buy it

Most people include "coldwater" and "Temperate" in this forum because their ranges overlap ....here in Mo we have creeks that have many coldwater species right next to ponds that only house temperate.
