has anyone tried red light, and is it proven that fish cannot see it (even though i prefer blue)?

I have used a red filter on my normal cheap lights I have laying around, and there is no change in the fish. Generally all a red filter does is enables us to not have our limited night vision affected. However the fish did come out some, but they still could see me, and the lighting threw colors off. The blue light I notice that they are more active, and if the room is dark, they do not see me very well, the red light this was not true.

HA at last i got a photo of the little bastard! i stayed up for 3 straight weeks, and at last i got a pic! HOORAY

Nice pic! Notice I didn't bash yours! lol

lol, funny thing is, i didnt take it. My dad was pissing about with his camera, and the bloody fish just came out for a photo shoot. I was so mad, i can't get any photos of my plecs, and the GN is about the hardest. I think you'll find i greatly credited your work. as normal.

That is a really healthy looking GN davo. Congrats on someone finally getting a pic of it!

cheers. yea, its hard with shy/nocturnal plecos, because its hard to check on them to see if they are eating properly/look for sunken stomachs/any other diseases and this helped. i'm quite suprised was out, doesnt even come out with the moonlight!

Mine eats as soon as I turn the light out, sometimes before. He is sneaky. A shady character, just like me! lol

The color on his ridges are so intense. I have never seen a GN in such beautiful condition. Says alot about its owner. Very cool.
