"Golden" Trimaculatus

Maybe I should just buy from Don Conkel. He's a short drive away and I can trust his fish.

Probably a better idea - I've seen adults from his stock purchased by another hobbyist and he had a real nice strain - maybe still does.

I too have seen the marketing reference to "pyro" or green trimac which does apparently kick off an olive coloring. IMO, with proliferation of f-horns, a seller does not need a marketing gimmick to sell a trimac. I can see someone selling more of a "San Juan Black" midas vs. "a barred midas" but I don't think the same intrigue is needed for trimacs.

Wow they are stupid. They have this in the trimac info..

That's not even a pic of a Trimac, it looks like a Pink Con to me.
If they send you this fish & call it a Trimac...
You're the one who's going to get "conned"...

I believe they supply quite a few fish stores, so the mis-id may simply carryover.

AFAIK the fish they are listing is Copadichromis trimaculatus

You're right, I just found their "golden trimac" in the African section, hence the origin being listed as lake Malawi.
