I'm trying to do right by my goldfish.

I brought her home two years ago, a Halloween treat from a local pet store. She was silver with a black stripe and tiny. Now she's 6 inches from tip to tail, golden and gorgeous. She seemed happy enough in a 20 gallon tank until recently but now requires frequent water changes.

Judging by what I read here and on other sites, she will continue to grow. I can't keep up. How do I find her a good second home in the New York City area? I'll miss her but doubt I can continue to provide what she needs.

Can anyone recommend an aquarium club? A fish rescue in NYC?Miss Fish 9027.jpg

Thanks for replying so quickly.

Your Comet seems at home with the other big fish in your 300 gallon tank! 300 gallons! Not an easy task.

You could trade him in to your local fish store for few dollars and at least get something you need instead. Or just give it to them..

20 gallons is still plenty of space for it. Goldfish can live in a bowl. They can take some pretty foul water for some time. Goldfish are eating machines maybe cut down on the food a little. I read Goldfish don't hold food in there stomachs like other fish. They eat and sh*t eat and sh*t. sh+t while there eating LOL
