Some goldfish are cool, I wouldn't lump them into a group as boring. I loved mine while I had them. When I got them, the bastard at walmart told me a koi would be fine in a ten, and eventually it wasn't, so I had to get rid of them. They got traded to a very respectable lfs, and they were gone within a week.

I think goldies are awesome, they constantly swim, don't kill everything in sight, and root through the substrate on a pretty regular basis. Big ones will kill small shrimp as fast as any Dat I've ever seen, and they have nice color. I came very close to making my 75 a goldfish tank, but it didn't happen.

I hope someday nobody will buy them.
Me, personally, I find Gold-Fish as an "Display" item to be very interesting and hard to maintain as in perfect water quality and movement. There is a place for them in this ever growing hobby.

I have never seen a dyed goldfish. All the colors are a natural result of selective breeding.
I love goldfish. I have 7 of them and they are all active. Oh, make it 8. So why again you don't like goldfish?
