My friend has two goldfish in a 5 gallon tank. They're full grown and 4 inches long. One of them has pop-eye, what can I recommend to her?

X2

To add that is not full grown goldfish can get much bigger than 4 inches

Hahaha. Yeah I tried to tell her this but she said "They're fine!" and got really defensive. I know they get huge. I told her to put them in a 75 gallon tank. She's gonna throw them in my pond and they're probably going to die because I'm sure they're stunted and diseased.

Get a 30gal or 55gal tank depends on what kind of your goldfish.

Well I've seen stunted goldfish live just fine as long as they are still eating and still in good condition, they just won't get bigger.

She said they're just regular goldfish, not fancy (though initially she said they were koi, so I'm not sure if she really knows what she has)

My pond is huge but has been neglected and is getting lower and lower every year because it's fed by a creek but the creek has eroded so low that it's not going through the tube that was installed many years ago. Therefore it will probably freeze over during the winter. If by some chance they survive til fall I guess I could come get them and throw them in a big tank at home.

If theres a creek leading out of the pond i personally wouldnt add em....they can introduce disease to other systems and if they breed can cause huge problems down the line
