I have huge feeder goldfish. They are just carp. Used to net them out of the canal I lived on when I was a kid. Two feet long, bright gold.

Those are called Koi carp.

Nice Goldfish!

Goldfish are Carassius auratus

Common Carp are Cyprinus carpio (fancy domesticated varieties are known as koi or nishikigoi)

Both are Cyprinids

Some people believe they were originally the same species(koi and goldfish). I dont buy it.The record is for domestic gold fish, I think b/c the carp they were bigger than 16"(I think).Correct me if I am wrong, though. In any case thats an awesome goldfish(how much?)!

Dang no love for goldfish!? This site should have a gold fish sub section or whatever you call it.
