Well according to the list I put up yesterday they aren't banned.
But I imagine they are cause from what I read they inhabit the same waters as the Zebra plecos which are banned, but there are breeders also.
 
I had a big Goldie I name Frankie. I got him at 12", and he grew to 13.5" before he died. He lived with discus, and could not have been a better match. He was so well behaved, and since they were all such slow eaters he got to eat in peace. Seeing your little guy makes me miss my gentle giant so much. When I again have an appropriate home for one, I'll definitely be getting one. He was very much a carnivore. Didn't take to veggies hardly at all. I hope your little guy does well.

aww sorry to hear he died.. that was such a nice pleco.. i remember the youtube vid...
