FINALLY I don't know what I did different from the other three times but it works now.
 
IDK either it's a hard question. with so few people having them it's not easy to say how many even make it large enough to be IMO safely trained to live. I know if my little one makes it to 8" I'll start training to live but not till then and I got him at 4" and at .5" per month growth rate hell you need to have these guys around a year before they are ready to be starved. so more people then I think might have these guys little but not alot have them 10" or bigger.

The suckers are hard to keep when small.

ive always gotten them off at about 4-6".
VATFs were easier to wean than GATFs IME.
