Goliath-diet HELP!

Hey guys, i just got a 4" goliath tiger fish. Tried to feed him but it won't take anything
i tried baby brine shrimp cube, brine shrimp cube, frozen brine shrimp, goldfish, raw shrimp, bloodworm!
I'm trying to avoid feeder guppies bc they're most likely diseased.
anyone have experience with goliath? I'm desperate

Never kept them mate, but being predatory I would say feeders is your best bet. Good luck, hope someone with experience steps in.

hey i recently got a 3 inch goliath tiger fish and he also would not eat anything until i gave him live ghost shrimp and he loves them..he does eat guppies too but if you want to avoid those he also took some mollies..hope this helps

You have to trick it. Try the splash method. What you do is when you toss in the live one at a time. make sure it makes a splash so the fish will learn to get it the moment it hits the water. After it gets use to it, splash the non live. Its might split it up but eventually it'll take it. That's how I trained widebars, pbass, perches, and various other fishes.
Just make sure you don't leave live in the tank or else it'll never take the food at the time it hits the water.

if you JUST got it. I would give it a few days till I tried to feed. Let it chill out and not be so stressed.

Try posting in the Characin section. It takes a while for Goliaths to switch to non live. A teacher fish would help but even with 4 other teacher fish around it took mine over 2 weeks to eat sticks and non live. It almost died.
