hello everyone. me and my buddy are tired off just siting around and geting drunk on the weekend so we are gonna build a wooden tank. i have been reading a lot of stuff on how, but im still kinda lost on some things. so as i go along im gonna post my progress on here and ask for ideas and help. tomar im gonna go buy the supplies to get started. my first ? is. sould i get a sheet of glass, plexy glass, or something else. i only need one pice, just for the front. im gonna build one at about 300gal. but i will know for sure tomar when i figure out the lengths. thanks for the help :thumbsup:

bump

if you dont care about weight glass will be cheaper and work well. acrylic will run you a lot more cost wise, but wont weigh as much.

theres a lot to be said for building your own tank, esp when yur looking at a tank bigger than 300. bood luck. cant wait to see some pics

ok, just got all the wood. im gonna start building, my next question is. what did u guys use to paint the plywood to make it water proof, and where can i get it. 2nd question what did u do at the spot where two pices of plywood meet (the corners) did u use silcone sealent or what. thanks for the help

bump oh and how many gal would it be if it 6' long 4' wide 3' high

i believe the formula is total cu.ft x 7.48.

6x4x3=72

72 x 7.48 = 538.56

Does that sound right? seems high.

seems a little high but i hope its a high number
