Good alternative to fx6 ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had that same Eheim 2227 and I agree it was problematic. However, their Eheim 1500XL (2260), is on a par with the FX6 and is a nice filter

Following this.

I have two Rena XP3 canisters on my 150g, one of which dates back to 2006 and they are still running.

problem is, I'm not sure if anything today compares to these. they are no longer made.

When they eventually die, what can i replace them with? For the price of the FX6 (about $540 up here in Canada) I'm really not impressed with the reviews. leaking valves, ****ty ribbed hoses and ****ty clamps etc.

Someone mentioned an ADA superjet filter es2400. It looks like a very nice filter; of course it cost nearly 5x an fx6....

I had 2 rena xp3 that lasted a very long time, shame that they are no longer available. I have 3 fx6 and no issues after several years of use
