First time posting in this Poly section even though I have been on MFK for a good year or so. Reason is because I am new to being a Poly keeper. About a month ago I picked up a new pair of 120g 4x2x2 tanks to go into my ever expanding tank collection  And asked here on MFK for some ideas for something "Different" for one of the tanks. It was suggested by someone (tlindsey or someone I believe it was) to look into Polys. Well it took all of 10 seconds googling them to know I couldn't live another day without owning one :) So long story short about 3 weeks ago after doing some reading up on them I came home with a beautiful very active Delhezi which I couldn't enjoy any more if I tried!

I've read up on feeding and food they eat but I always feel its better to talk to people in the hobby than just going by what you read in an online article. What is a good balanced diet for these guys? So far mine seems to love Omega One shrimp/carnivore pellets, I give him about 3-4 pellet per day, then about 3 pieces of Omega One frozen shrimp once per week. He also seems to live these green "veggie stix" I have that normally I feed to my Hap cichlids and mbuna. Should I be adding anything else to his diet? 3-4 shrimp pellets per day and 3 pieces of real shrimp per week enough for him or should I be feeding him more? Still tryin to figure out how much is enough/not enough/too much since I'm still very new to these guys.

And of course...no post is worth a darn without a pic or vid ;) My Delhezi "Blue"....I never name my fish, but as a Jurassic Park fan I had to name this guy after the main raptor in Jurassic World lol. And in that vid he's just in a holding tank. Once I am done after the holidays and get time he'll have a whole 4x2x2 with 3D background and nicely aquascaped to live in. Most likely with a few other dehezi friends :)

you gotta do more than just delhezi look into sengalus, polli and Tuegelsi.

As far as diet I alternate between hikari carnivore pellets and hikari cichlid gold daily and feed shredded(in a food processor) tilapia every 2-3 days

Looks like you just gave me a reason to put a new blender on my Christmas list lol

Once both these 120g tanks are up and ready I plan to give this guy an albino Sen friend, and maybe 2 more Delhezi. The other 120 (they will be side by side) I was planning some SA cichlids, but honestly I am liking the Bichir so much I may just do them in both those 120g tanks now ;)

Not familiar with Tuegelsi, I'll have to look that up.

I am still new to polys myself but I feed Hikari sinking carnivore pellets, omega one shrimp pellets, and NLS 3mm sinking pellets. I will probably end up going with one type in the future (most likely NLS), but I'm still experimenting. My polys will only eat freeze dried shrimp if i hold it underwater with tweezers, maybe because I've only fed them with sinking food since day one..

I tried slivers of tilapia recently and wow they attacked it harder than they've ever attacked any pellet. In terms of how much.. I'm still figuring that out too. I try to feed just enough to see a slight bulge in their stomachs but also skip at least one day a week (it's hard though because it's so fun watching them eat!). I'll probably reduce the frequencies of feeding as their growth slows with age.
