Hey!
I am thinking about setting up a turtle tank, but I want to know what the best turtles for a beginner are. So...
1. What species would you guys recommend the most?
2. I've been doing some research, and I'm thinking musk turtles or painted turtles.
3. What about keeping any turtles with fish???
Thanks!

Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Musk can live in a smaller tank but painted need larger setup when they get older. Mud, Musk, Maps, and some terrapins stay smaller and are good beginner turtles. I'm partial to Mississippi Maps and Texas Maps.

I agree with the musk, mud and map turtles. they stay fairly small comparably and the mud and musk do not require UV lights.
