try breeding a flowerhorn must have divider and do lots of waterchanges as they poop alot. Make sure wen you put them together you can keep an eye on them as the male can attack the female in a snap. The best time to put them together is when the females tube drops and add a clay dish.

This seems like a massive leap but would a flowerhorn work?

A flowerhorn would work in a 75. And yes, many male flowerhorns are infertile or otherwise weak breeders.
