Good Budget Heater Controller

I got two atc 300 controllers from eBay about 2 years ago and they have been doing a great job for me. Have my 300 jagers plugged into them and they can also be used to time your lights. Very cheap and they're in Celsius

Does anyone know if the stc-1000 just does celsius? The pictures don't show fahrenheit.

Out of the box, only Celsius. However, if you are good with electronics you can flash new firmware that will switch to Fahrenheit, and add some extra features.

flashing does require an arduino microcontroller though.

I don't know what you consider an arm and a leg but the Ranco thermostats have served me well for years. I think they are more intended for refrigerators, heaters and such but they work great for a fish tank. They run about $70 or so though last time I checked.
