So its just a 14ft with no flooring in it? Like a john boat? If so and you are gambling on the motor it is not worth $400. You can buy a new or like new 14ft. John boat for that price. Pouring water in a boat does not put enough water pressure to know if it leaks. If you want to find out float it and hop in along with a fat friend.

Outboard Rebuilds are not cheap and even a 9hp outboard is around $1,500 new and a 50hp $7500-$10,000. Sounds like you already have your mind made up on buying it though. Its your $$$

your crazy.. a brand new 50hp would be about $4500- $5500...


I bought a brand new 17.5' boat with a 50hp for $12,000

Go get a qoute on a 4 stroke 50hp and see what they say. Maybe if you get a two stroke it might be lower but they are being pushed out except for the E-tec and that cost more then four strokes.

It seems high. My neighbor just re powered a 90hp 4 stroke Yamaha w/ controls for $7500 cash.

Overall - if the trailer has a title, this boat is a good deal. Heck you can re-power with a 15hp 4 stroke brand new for $2500 or less, excluding overpriced Honda motors.

Ok, now add in install price on the boat with controls which some manufacters void warranty unless it is installed by a dealer and you have the price range I posted up.

blah blah blah...You NEVER said installed price.... I always do my own work piss on the waranty.. don't abuse your equipment and your all good.


But Installation price would be between $600-$1000 for a total of $6300 installed.... NOT $10,000 installed for a 50hp four stroke..

$10k was my high price and with todays motor options you could pay $10k for a new repower. Sounds like my prices were correct then installed which is what I meant when I listed the price ranges. Dont forget to add shipping if you buy off hte internet
