my buddy just bought a 260g glass tank, stand with 40g sump and all the plumbing, skimmer, heaters, pumps, lights, 250 pounds of live rock, 100 pounds of live sand, large snails, a large anemone, a feather duster and too many fish to list(some really rare) i know one fish is worth $400 and a couple are worth $100 about 40 fish alltogether costing atleast $2000.

He has never owned a fish tank EVER  he knew a guy that knew a guy with this tank that had to move from a big house into small apartment(divorce). he put this setup on our local website for $7,000 for awhile with no hits. he had 3 days to get all his crap out of the house. so with no options left he sold it to my buddy for $2,000:headbang2my buddy borrowed the cash from his g/f and bought the tank hopeing to turn around and sell it for $7,000 pay his g/f back and make some profet. here's his add http://classifieds.castanet.net/showproduct.php/product/330816/cat/130
do you think things will work out for him is $7,000 a good asking price for this $14,000 dollar setup?

i think he could make more money growing and selling the corals off.. and then the tank and fish etc if he wished to..

he's clueless with saltwater errr fish tanks in general:screwy:. so he just wants to sell it before his g/f kicks his *** or everthing dies. is $7,000 a good deal? i dont know much about salt except its expensive.

depending on the specifics of the lights skimmer etc..

and all the live stock... i'd say yeah it's pretty damn good

only problem is that A) without expert care those fish and corals are pretty much dead B) it's not everyday you'll find someone looking to unload 7K on a fish tank

the guy that found him the deal is a saltwater vetrin(a co-worker) he's gonna help him out till it's sold. ya i didnt think there would be many people willing to drop 7k on a tank but u never know. it's too bad i didnt get in on this deal because his friend that got him the deal got a 110g from the same guy for free!!:WHOA:

The economy sucks (maybe not in canada) i also dont think many people are in the market for a 7k tank. If they are, they are going to do custom imho at least thats why i would do. But thats a cool tank and a really good value at 2k.

tell him to get an account on here and we'll help him lol. 2k for a 7k tank is a H E double hockey sticks of a deal.......
