If this original owner couldn't sell it for $7000, but instead sold it for $2000, how would the new owner ever think he could get $7000 for it?

In fish, the sum is less than the parts. What I mean is if a person has a $1000 tank, $200 filter, $200 lights and $1000 in fish, it doesn't add up to a $2400 set up, it's about a $1400 set up.

the original owner who had this tank in a big house found out he had 1 month to move out because of a bad divorce(he's moving into an apartment) so he didnt have much time to try and sell it. the time was up for him to move. he was told to get everything out of the house. so as a last resort he sold his setup for 2k. he said he'd rather smash it with a bat then give it away. so my buddy thought of it as an investment and has a house to keep it in while he tries to sell it.

your senerio basically says you can get half price of what it was bought for.. if u read the thread i said the whole thing new is worth atleast 14k and he's wants to try and get 7k half price? ya...i still agree though, how many people wanna spend 7k on a used setup. if they have that kinda money to spend they might as well buy new what they want.

wow thats a beast, ill take it lol, jk jk jk.. I would like to have a 900 gallon tank however, the options would be almos unlimited. That sure kicks my 120 out of the house lol.

well, he ended up selling it to the first person who phoned for 3k. atleast he made a bit of money off it and nothing died which is always a bonus. he's leaving to go work up at northern Alberta (2 weeks on 1 week off) so he wouldnt of been able to take care of it.
