Does one of your friends have a half ton with a regular 8' box? It would stick out a bit but the tail gate should extend enough. Tie down the tank and the back so it wouldn't shift. You need a few guys at least to help you lift it (even an acrylic tank of that size will be heavy). Bring lots of blankets/sheets and rope or styrofoam sheets and packing tape to keep the tank from getting scratched. Go for it!
