Good Dimensions for a 200?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you plan on a silver aro wider is a must. I would like to have a base that is 8' long by 36" wide. Height is up to you. You'll have more gallons in there but that's a good thing right?

so i called my lfs and 8'x2'x2' is 640 with only the tank and glass hood. no stand. go price or no? thats 240 gal btw

Glass or acrylic? I would assume glass...

Before making a decision I suggest reading a couple pages of the "Glass or Acrylic" sticky at the top of this folder...

I generally prefer glass but 8' tanks are darn heavy... Compare the differences and see what you think for your personal situation...

I wouldn't let empty tank weight sway your decision either way though.

you only move it once (unless you move in the near future) and you may be able to get your LFS to deliver it for you.

my Aqueon 150g weighs almost 300 pounds, so I got the LFS to bring it to my house with 4 guys and put it on my stand, while I 'supervised' :)

most likely glass. if i do get a bigger tank, its probably going to on the first floor of my house. but i'll check out the sticky.

no "standard" tank will be able to house your aro for life. bare minimum i would go for an aro would be 8x3x2 360g.

i dont know if i'll be keeping my aro for life. i have family friend who has a BIG show tank and i might sell it to him when my aro gets bigger.
