He meant he is over filtrating by 100gallons on his 40 gallon CHILL GUYS!

Why does that matter if the tank is to small for the fish anyway? For example I could have a full grow Oscar in a 20 gallon and have significant filtration and perform frequent water changes to keep him alive but that does not mean I am not abusing him. The tank is too SMALL for the fish.

I turnover 30x an hour and I cannot get around the limitations of a 75 gallon tank. Eventually I will need a bigger tank because of my Scat.

I see your point but you don't have to flame the guy! Everyone has had their times when they overstocked at one point. People feel the need to buy any fish they come across. The guy will probably have to sell his flowerhorn later on, but let him enjoy his fish.

I bet everyone on here has overstocked once or twice in their period in the hobby. I myself have been acused of this as well, but I am selling most of my big catfish and getting a bigger tank. So just lighten up on him please.

I didn't realize I was being hard on him. Why buy fish if you can't house them properly. I wounldn't by a dog or a horse and assume that I could sell them when I couldn't care for them properly why would I buy fish and assume some one would buy them from me.

I am not flaming him, I am just not saying the things he wants to hear.

regarding the flowerhorn and dithers is no dithers with flowerhorns even with a 250gal tank. thats my opinion though

Well you might not have been hard on him, but the way I read your replies it sure sounded like you were flaming him. I am sorry that I read your reply wrong it was my bad.

But like Nic said Ethnics you are busting on this kid for having a small tank and a standard 150 isn't even 24" wide! It is 18" and your saying he needs a new tank..You need one more than he does. Having not one but two Silver arowanas in a 150 and the aros are large!

I am assuming he has the FH in 40 gallon and he wants to add more. I don't even own Silver aros I think you are confused.

I wasn't talking to you about the aros...I was talking to Ethnics and to what Nic said.

And he never said he wanted to add more fish to that 40. Other than a dither fish.

ethnics you have no room to talk with over stocking look at your 150 two arrows..the 150 isnt even wide enough for your large arrow to turn around in with ease....that is cruel your the one that will need a bigger tank...and as for the flowerhorn dither situation, a 40 gallon is small for a flowerhorn but its obviously a grow out tank till he gets the bigger one which is fine for know...but when he gets his bigger tank dithers good range from silver dollars to tinfoil barbs..or even a school of columbian tetras....they may get eaten or beat on but they are cheap and easy to replace..so be easy on the guy and give him some xmas help instead of some scroog talk..
