Good fish to breed as feeders

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats fine, sometimes the act of breeding fish for food is just interesting and that alone makes it worth it. Just know youll pay more feeding them than what they'll save you. Ive heard of convicts working. Grass shrimp are a cheap and easy possibility as well.
Lol I guess I should’ve mentioned it’s not a cost thing, just something to do with an extra tank that will have the added benefit of feeding my others.

gotcha gotcha. if thats the case id say do something wonky and fun like self cloning crayfish haha

Convicts breed more that yellow labs ? I’m on the fence between the two.
thanks
I dunno, my experience with the two has been that yellow labs are much more delicate, especially given based on the fish you're feeding them to seem to be mostly neutral or acid water fish and for Yellow Labs ideally you'd be looking at well over 7, like 8+

Might as well eliminate one extra chore and pick something that prefers the same water.

Most Africans do like hard water, and here in Phoenix my tap is about 7.6. That was part of the reason I used to keep mostly African cichlids
