Good Gravel Sifter for Planted 75 Community?

Like Rocksor said, adding more stock to deal with waste just produces more waste.

If anything for this purpose, something like Malaysian trumpet snails will root through the substrate and not add much to your bio load. Plus they're a great indicator to if you're feeding too much. Lots of MTS means you're putting too much food into the tank.

Some years ago my answer to vacuuming gravel all the time was: Sand bottom instead of gravel.

With reasonably balanced tank ecology due to stocking and feeding moderately, plus some cichlids that do sand sifting, and none of my fish being huge waste producers-- I rarely have to think about it anymore.
