What is a good HOB Filter for a 75 gallon? I have one already, but I need a new one. What is a good HOB filter that will not cost me more than $70. Are Aqueon quietflows good?

I'm a big fan of emperor 400 filters. Decent mechanical (better/cheaper if you cut a sponge to fit) and great biological. Can be found for 60 online.

Aquaclears are also good filters.

I own 2 aqueon 75s and they work great. At 29 dollars each its hard to beat. Of course my Aquaclear 110 is a better filter but also costs $80.

Emperor 400. I'm currently running two on my 75g along with a XP4 and the water is crystal clear.

Buy a used ac110 for sure or a new one that's being sold privately. Should be between 40-65$

I have 2 fluval C4 on my 75.they were 60$ if I remember.I like them, I also use hagen ac70 and 110 on other tanks

Really depends on which fish you will have in it. I flip between aquaclear and emperor/penguin depending on what I'm keeping, often time mixing one of each.

I'll be keeping several silverdollars, a rotkeil severum, and angelfish.
I am thinking of three (3) choices.
Fluval c4, Aqueon 75 quietflow, and emperor or aquaclear.
What ever is cheapest at the store.

Try amazon if you want lowest price for new filter

You won't find anything better in terms of a HOB filter than an Aquaclear. Get two AC70s or one AC110. It's worth spending a few more bucks now than upgrading to one eventually and having a used filter in the closet/garage.
