LittlebigAl3, id have to find out how much shipping would cost you and try to make it fair after that. id like $20 for him/her if i end up getting rid of it at this point - just cause, long story short a lfs wanted $40 for him - but idk. id probably bring it down just to make it easy on ya if ya get him/her. that goes for all the other mfk members too if i get rid of them and end up shipping them....
ill let yall know within a few weeks how things are turning out. two days ago i got a crazy idea, try to keep them anyway, even though my parents dont want a 75 gallon tank in the house and college might end up forcing me to rehome them. basically, if you want the long story, it goes something like this...
parents and school were not going as i had hoped - as far as fish keeping goes (iv already got 4 betta tanks and a community tank plus my bichirs.) the prospect of having to get a 75 gallon just to keep these guys was making it difficult. so, about a month ago i did in fact (to my horror) get rid of my polys, i gave them to a lfs for store credit. well i went back to visit about 4 days later to check up on the little guys and they were in a tank with baby oscars. the oscars were not friendly. my del had a bloody nose and the other two were also being picked on. (i had fattened these guys up and were healthy as horses at the time.. i was pissed) i told the lfs ppl and the response was that they didnt have any other place for them so deal with it. i had explicitly told these ppl multiple times that i dearly love these fish and that their store was the only one i was willing to give them up to because they had gained my trust and would hopefully lovingly care for my bichirs. i was wrong. so i declined my store credit and got them to let me take them back free of charge. they wanted $40 for the del and the 2 senegals were mislabled as palmas despite the fact that i had told them repeatedly beforehand that they were common sens. they wanted $20 for each of them. so now they are back home and im having to deal with what to do.
my plan is to do what i did to get into this hobby, set things up even though im not supposed to and ask for forgiveness later... i wasnt supposed to even get a betta to begin with lol. now the whole family loves him - and my community tank. so basically iv got it worked out with a friend that on the weekend after my next pay check im going to have him help me move my empty 55 gallon out of storage and into his garage, water leak check it, and build stand for it... im gona draw up plans and have home depot cut the wood for me. then hopefully i can get it into one of the closets in the basement (one of them has an electrical socket for a filter and heater) and wait for my parents to find it... hopefully everything will be ok. so ill let yall know if i am having to get rid of them within a couple of weeks. so know you're all up to date
