It's basically an overflow where there is no need for check valves and all of that other stuff I dont understand. The over flow box will have a power head with an equal gph to the power head in the sump. So the first power head is in the overflow box, and will shoot water in the pvc all the way down to the sump. Then the sump powerhead will shoot it back up to the main tank. It will start up after a power-outage because the powerheads will start up after the power is back on. Will this work? Any tips wou;ld be appricated.

It's a good theory, but if one pump fails you'll have a flood. It's also next to impossible to match the flow rates. Even if you do get them matched a little evaporation will throw it off. Really, there is no good way of using a pump for "overflow" and return.

What if I buy the same pump for each part, and have a cover for the sump and overflow box. Would that make it better?

even if you buy the exact same pump the difference in pressure will affect the flow rate. One pump has added gravity helping it flow better and the other is working against gravity making it slower.

two identical pumps off the same shelf will never have the exact same flow. They will be extremely close but not exact. The small difference can look like it does not exist but a day and a half later when the difference adds up, you will have water on the floor.

Additionally, when you use a pump to pump downward, gravity is assisting that pump. The flow will be more than the pump working against gravity.

Using an overflow box was good thinking though. Keep the ideas going and you will surprise yourself.

Ok well if thats not going to work can you please explain how this does?

What exactly dont you understand? Its pretty easy to make one. Get all the bits you see in the first post put them together as shown. then blam. You have a PVC overflow.

The actual pvc comtraption thats in the sticky post. How would I hook that to the 75 and the overflow?
